Black Future Festival

Saturday, February 19 – Sunday, February 27

Every day, 10am–1pm & 2pm-5pm

Join us for a week of reflection and future-forward fun inspired by the national celebration of peoples of the African Diaspora and Black History Month. With the help of our festival curator at Àṣẹ Dance Theatre Collective we look forward to presenting interactive dance performances and a Genea-Djali workshop, plus storytelling inspired by Crown Heights, a quilting workshop, local eats, and much more!

Play Session

Play Session tickets allow families to explore BCM’s signature exhibits including World Brooklyn, Neighborhood Nature, Totally Tots, Collections Central and The Nest. Every Play Session includes access to our ColorLab art studio, where families have the opportunity to explore print-making, collage and sculpture projects inspired by artists such as Elizabeth Catlett, Richard Hunt, Faith Ringgold and Kehinde Wiley, among others.

Play Sessions are 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and 2pm-5pm on Thursdays. The Museum is closed between 1pm-2pm for cleaning.

Skate & Play Session

Grab your winter coat and warmest pair of socks and get ready for our new large-scale winter installation on the rooftop of Brooklyn Children’s Museum! Opening December 10, ArtRink is a 3,200 square foot outdoor eco-friendly skating rink and art exhibition showcasing the work of sixteen local artists. Together with a number of winter-themed activations, ArtRink is a one-of-a-kind art & play experience for families and kids this holiday season.

ArtRink is open to all BCM visitors during regular Museum hours beginning Friday, December 10 from 2pm–5pm. Skate & Play Sessions include 60-minutes of skate time and are $23 for the general public (includes general admission to the Museum) and $8 for BCM Members. Capacity is limited and we highly encourage you to book tickets online!
